About the blogger
Hi my name is Jess, I’m a 27-year-old Australian woman who is currently living in Indonesia. Health and Fitness was a huge part of my childhood, I regularly competed in athletics, netball, and soccer. It wasn’t until my late teens and early 20’s that my health and fitness took a downward spiral. I created very unhealthy food habits and had little to no motivation for exercise.
It was in January 2015 that I finally realised something HAD to change! I started using the lovely Kayla Itsines workout guides, and with her help and motivation from fellow BBG (Bikini Body Guide) girls, I found my love for health and fitness again. Last year I decided to create an Instagram account dedicated to my fitness journey, it became a positive space for me to share all things and health and fitness, plus all the healthy and delicious recipes I make. I must admit though, I’m no Masterchef! From the positive feedback off my Instagram, and lots of encouragement from my friends, I decided to create The Healthy Mermaid.
I hope this blog becomes a space where women can get inspired to find their own love and passion for health and fitness.
